We hope you’ll join us for the weekend in Beacon, New York. Lindsay grew up only a few miles away, but we spend most of our trips upstate on Main Street in Beacon. Lindsay’s father Richie, uncle Harvey, and brother Jesse manage Beacon’s oldest oldest continuously operating bar and restaurant, Max’s on Main.

Max’s on Main — Stop by the Kaplan family’s bar and restaurant for a cocktail, beer, snack, or dinner. There’s something for everyone. Richard always orders the corn fritters and fish tacos, and Lindsay prefers the pierogis and Aunt Susie's flank steak. maxsonmain.com
Beacon Cycles — Rent a bike and cycle your way through Beacon. You can also request a mountain bike and hit the trails (but Lindsay will not join you). beaconbikeshop.com
Mount Beacon — Hike to highest peak of the Hudson Highlands and feast your eyes on the view. The summit was once home to a hotel, ski lodge, and casino, accessible by an incline railway. If Richard and Bagel can make it to the top, then you can too. scenichudson.org/parks/mountbeacon
Beacon Creamery — I scream, you scream, Richard pretty much always screams for ice cream when we're in Beacon so we come here. facebook.com/beacon-creamery
Hudson Beach Glass — Watch artisans blow glass in Beacon’s original firehouse, or admire the unique baubles in the shop. hudsonbeachglass.com
Bannerman Cruise and Island Tour — Cruise to the site of Bannerman’s Castle, an abandoned miltary compound built in the style of a castle by gilded-age tycoon Francis Bannerman VI. OR just wave to it from the train. bannermancastle.org/island-tours.html
The Hop — Hoppy IPA lovers, rejoyce. Enjoy an array of over 150 artisan craft brews at this popular beer bar and gastropub on Main Street. thehopbeacon.com
